If so, you may enjoy a visit to Boiceville, NY near the base of Panther Mountain, where you can visit what remains of the studio and sculpture park established by Emile Brunel about 100 years ago. Brunel was a French immigrant, artist and noted photo journalist. After traveling the West in the early 20th century, Brunel bought land in the Catskills, established a resort and began making art. Brunel’s spirit is alive and well nearby, where you can visit Steve Heller’s Fabulous Furniture , a modern workshop producing spaceships, cars, dragons and so much more.
If your up for a hike, take a climb up Panther Mountain, which I did on Saturday in chilly 18 degree weather. Invigorating……. I plan to hike throughout the winter, so if your intersted, just let me know.
